Roseberry Day 5

Taking all of this down is always a long, slow process, especially when it feels like it's 100 degrees outside. Since Kurt was busy tearing down a show in Boise, we put Zach to work in his place. He didn't complain. . . much. . .

Gloria worked hard, too. . . for somebody else. She became good friends with Kathy during all of her visits to the store over the weekend so she ended up helping her with all of the recycling that had built up during the festival.

The restored General Store was really something to see. I didn't have much time to spend in there but I think Gloria must have explored every nook and cranny. Kathy told me she was always polite and never got in the way. . . warms a mother's heart. . .

Kathy paid her for her services with a knitting kit. She spent the rest of the hot afternoon sitting at this little table in the nice, cool store:

We had Emma and Lucy with us all week and they did surprisingly well. We rewarded their good behavior with a little freedom while we were tearing down. Emma really wanted to visit the nice, cool store but she only stuck her nose in . . .

It took us most of the day to take everything down and load it into the truck. We were hot and tired by the time we pulled away so we decided to go jump in the lake. . . literally. . .

Cascade Lake was close by and felt delicious after our day in the sun. . .

The dogs were especially happy. .

This is how Rob repaid Zach for all of his hard work. . .

We were absolutely famished by the time we reached Cougar Mountain Lodge so we stopped and had a bite to eat.

One of our customers recently purchased this property so we are planning to come back and stay for a few days later in the year. . . hopefully . . .

The festival was very successful and we have been invited to come back again next year. It's always nice to fill up the calendar a year in advance!!
