Camp, Day 4

At our counselor meeting Wednesday morning, the directors warned us that day 4 can be a tough day. So far, my group had been a piece of cake, so I didn't believe them. I should have believed them. . .

All of the girls in my cabin are strong, confident, smart young ladies. These are all good qualities and I enjoyed watching the girls interact with each other as they each took some kind of leadership role. These attributes came in handy many times at camp and were very helpful when coming up with a skit. We had a lot of great ideas but not a lot of agreement on just one idea. . . In the end, however, everyone came around and worked together as a team and I was very proud of the way each of them handled the "discussion".

Pam and Kim, the directors, had a little afternoon slump. . .

In chapel the night before, Jim gave the salvation message and left my girls with a lot of questions. We had some really good discussions about all of it during cabin time and then they each had a chance to talk to Jim the next afternoon. Seeds were planted. . .

We made beautiful prayer journals during craft time:

After chapel, each group put on their skit for everyone. Ours turned out to be about David and Goliath. Sort of. We also had a confused camper, a hula girl and a little MC Hammer music just to round it out. You can't touch this. . .

After the skits were over, we had a little drama. . . I don't think I should put details here, but it had something to do with a crying, missing camper, who wasn't missing OR crying until she was found, although she wasn't lost in the first place, but when all was said and done, she WAS crying because a few people THOUGHT she might be missing. . . Meanwhile, one of the junior counselors went down the zip line and managed to cut his head open. . . So WHY were we all "locked down" in the dining hall?? Just a precaution. . .
During cabin time, Gloria helped Shelby see the error of her ways in how she was styling her long, gorgeous curly hair. . .

. . . Apparently the Pippi Longstocking look is coming back. . .

Shelby was a good sport (and beautiful no matter how her hair is styled), but I'm sure she'd be mortified to find this picture on the WWW. Sorry, Shelby. . .
We all slept pretty well that night, too. . . .
