Every year I do my best to help my kids (and myself) understand the true meaning of Christmas: That it's not about stuff and more stuff but it's about Jesus coming to earth as a baby to give us hope.

We pulled out our advent wreath on Sunday and have been lighting the first candle each evening and talking about Who we are really celebrating this month.

I believe this daily reminder gives us a better perspective so that when Christmas Day comes around, we don't feel quite so unsatisfied when all of the presents are opened and we realize that's all there is. . .

Because we know there is so much more. . .
