Wednesday's are very busy. Not in a stressful way, usually, just full from beginning to end. I've been trying to spend a couple of hours each morning on the house and yard even though it is hardly making a dent. We're sharing a vehicle right now, so I just putter around until Rob is ready to leave the house. He ususally spends this time on the phone or just staring into space while he puts his shoes on. He is NOT a morning person in any sense of the word. He isn't really awake until after 12:00 p.m. even though he may look like he is. Today we left the house around 11:00 and went into the shop. I've given up trying to do any school at home these days and it actually works better this way. The kids and I have time in the morning to hang out at home doing the things we enjoy and then we have a chunk of time at the shop for school work. Zach, as usual, just gets to work and finishes most of his schoolwork without any reminders. He will occasionally have Algebra questions for me and we do history together, but other than that, he's a very independent student.
Gloria, on the other hand. . .
Actually, she's a great student when it's her idea!!! As long as I give her choices, like which book she'd like to read or which subject she'd like to study next, she does great. She also really enjoys hands on activities and learns best when she can use all of her senses to understand something. In this picture, she just sat down (after school was "finished") and wrote a story all on her own. It's a story about a teacher teaching her students about stars. She did a really good job with it.

Dale and Rob have a huge list of projects that have to be completed before our "busy" season starts in the middle of May. We are never really un-busy, but things will really pick up (like a Tsunami that won't end) until sometime in September.

On Wednesday evenings, the fun starts at 6:15 with dinner at the church. This is one of the few times in my week that I'm able to catch up with my friends. It's always a little rushed, but it's fun to sit and chat. By 7:00 I'm in the Kid's Club room ready to sing with the kids. We've had a bigger group lately with at least 15 kids (average for us is closer to 8-9). Louise has been telling the story of Esther for the last month or so and the kid's have really gotten into it:

After church there is more time to visit and the kids love to run around and see their friends. Zach bounced Henry down the stairs and he laughed his little pants off (Henry, not Zach)!!!

Dale and Rob take a break from their projects long enough to join in a few games of basketball in the gym.

After basketball, we had to go back to the shop where Rob had a short meeting and then we all went home. It was a long, but good, day.
