We went straight to my wonderful, over-achieving mother-in-law's house after we dropped Austin off at home. We decided to celebrate Easter with Rob's side of the family today so it wouldn't conflict with other family celebrations on Sunday and we could enjoy the day without feeling rushed. Jeanie almost always goes above and beyond to the benefit of the rest of us!!
A true plethora of cupcakes, pies, and other desserts:
I'm pretty sure she had to get up before 5 a.m. to make these cinnamon rolls and dozens of homemade crescents:
The table, of course, was beautifully decorated with the added touch of party favors in the form of plastics eggs containing a lottery ticket for each and every person- right down to my almost-two year-old niece!!
Everyone in the Baker family receives an Easter basket- not just the kids. They are all carefully hidden before we arrive and we all have to hunt for the bag with our name on it. This is my youngest niece searching around with my oldest niece:
It's funny how all of us "adults" can't wait to open our goodie baskets!!
I guess one is never too old to get an Easter basket!!
Back inside opening our treasures:
Jeanie individualizes each basket with favorite candies and trinkets. Rob even got a gift certificate to Sonic!
Here is my lovely basket:
And, of course, it wouldn't be Easter without an Easter Egg Hunt!!
These are no ordinary eggs, however, they are filled with grandpa's loose change totaling close to $10 for each grand kid when all is said and done.
