Thursday, August 27th, Nampa Nights and Set Up for Worship In The Park

We have gotten pretty good at juggling multiple events this summer. It takes a little bit of planning but we're pretty good at flying by the seats of our pants, too, and it all manages to get done somehow. . .

On Thursday we had to set up our stage and canopy in Caldwell for our Friday event but we also had Nampa Nights. We couldn't get into the park in Caldwell until afternoon which we knew would be cutting into our set up time in Nampa since we try to be out there before 3:30 on Thursdays for a 5:30 start time. Time always seems to get away from us and by the time we had everything loaded for the two events and hitched up the stage trailer, it was almost 3:00! It took Rob a good 45 minutes to get out to Caldwell in the Uhaul pulling the stage trailer so it was almost 4:00 when we left Rob and Tyler at the park in Caldwell and the rest of us raced to Nampa to set up there. (I'm not sure if it's really considered racing when you're driving a Uhaul!!) We managed to pull it off and the Gayle Chapman band started right on time. . .

I left Zach in Nampa to help Kurt and I went back out to Caldwell where Rob, Tyler and a few event volunteers had made great progress on the stage and canopy set up. . .

After awhile we were at a standstill since the Uhaul with all of the gear in it was still in Nampa so we relaxed at the park (where Gloria made a new friend) . . .

. . . and then we unloaded the truck when Kurt and Zach arrived and set up as much as we could before leaving around 1 a.m.

Rob and Tyler stayed in the park as security because, after all, it was Caldwell, and the rest of us planned to meet back at the park early in the morning (even though it already WAS early in the morning) so we could be ready for sound check at 11 a.m. . .
