July 29th, Vale, Day 1, Wednesday. . .

Welcome to the beginning of the longest, hardest, hottest four days of my life.

This is the rodeo arena where our biggest concert EVER was held:

It was hot. And dusty. And hot.

We brought a truck packed with just about everything we own, pulling the stage trailer. . .

. . . plus Tyler's truck was full of tools and misc stuff, my truck had all of our personal stuff and Kurt's truck was full AND pulled the trailer with the squatty stage. . .

And it was hot.

Tyler brought his great big cooler that we kept filled with ice and waters that we really, really needed because it was so HOT.

And dusty.

The big concert was on Friday so we had two days to set everything up.

Everything seems harder and heavier when it's hot. And dusty.

The stage took a long time to set up with the additional stage decks added to the side and the back. . .

Zach and Tyler were a huge help unloading and setting everything up. . .

Lucy wanted to be a big help. . .

It was a lot of work with very, very little fun. OK, no fun. None.

The poor dogs in their black fur coats were really miserable. . .

Did I mention it was hot? And dusty?

And a lot of work?????

At the end of the day, the stage and canopy were up and everything was loaded onto the stage ready to be set up the next day. . .
