Last Day In Paradise. . .

My least favorite part of being at the cabin is packing up to go home. The weekend flew by and this was just too small of a break from the craziness of life. Hailey walked around and took a few pictures of the inside of the cabin. I have a feeling it will be awhile before we'll be back. . .

Rob didn't seem to understand that it was time to go home when he pulled out the 3 and 4 wheelers. . . I'm sure Kurt tried to stop him. . .

Rob just had to show Kurt one of our favorite trails. He assured me it would be a quick trip.

Yeah, right. . .

In the meantime, the kids and I took turns riding the smaller 4-wheeler up and down the driveway.

It got pretty boring after awhile so when Rob and Kurt got back they all wanted to go for a "real" ride. There was only enough room for 6 people so somebody had to stay back. I drew the short straw and got stuck with cleaning the cabin while everyone else went for a ride up Lightning Creek Road. . . They doubled up on the bikes and rode all the way to the top of the mountain. When the road runs out, there is a trail that takes you up even further. Of course, Rob made everyone take the hike. . .

I'm sure the view from the top made it all worth it:

Gloria took a video of Zach and Hailey as they neared the bottom of the hill:

When we finally put away the toys and packed our stuff into the truck, it was late afternoon and we still had to go into Garden Valley to fold up the stage and hitch it to the truck. Zach found a snake in the dirt and that entertained the kids for awhile. . .

The stage closed up pretty painlessly and we put the new roof on it that Zach and Rob built last week:

I still like the trailer because of the time and energy it saves us, but I really hate pulling it up and over hills and through curvy roads. . .

It only took us about an hour to put everything away and by that time we were all ready to go home.

The last thing we did was to pull up the heavy stakes in the ground. They made for pretty good sword fighting:

It was a good event and a good trip. We made it back to Meridian in one piece, which was good, but all I could think about was planning our next trip to the cabin. . .
