Garden Valley

After driving for about 5 hours in sage brush, we stopped at home long enough to hitch the trailer to the truck and to grab the kids and a few supplies so we could drive another couple of hours pulling the trailer up to Garden Valley for another event. At least this time there was pretty scenery to look at:

This event is a 2-day festival that we are providing stage, canopy and lights for. Pretty much a set-and-forget but staying within calling distance in case something goes wrong. We didn't arrive until after 7:00 and we had about 5 more hours worth of work to do. After a late night tear down in Winnemucca and 7 hours of driving, I felt and looked like I had been run over by a truck. The only thing that kept me going was the knowledge that after we had everything set up we would be staying at the cabin for a few days until it was time to take it all down again. While it's not really a vacation since we're working, I'll take what I can get in the way of rest and relaxation.

The kids were anxiously awaiting the cabin, too, but waited pretty patiently. . .

It was a long, slow set up even with everybody pitching in so it was after midnight when we finished attaching the roof.

Kurt and Rob would have to put in a little time at the festival on Saturday but there would still be time to play. . .
