Iron Chef lV at The Egyptian

On Monday night we ran sound for an Iron Chef event at The Egyptian. We had to add 5 extra stage decks to our existing stage so the chef's would have room for their appliances!! It made me nervous to see all that weight on the stage, but it held just fine and looked beautiful!!

A musical duo entertained the sold-out crowd before the main event. Mark Johnson from KTVB kicked things off at the 7:00 start time:

Since I don't even pretend to know how to cook, much less know anything about the culinary arts, I can't even explain what this event was all about!! I know they had one surprise ingredient and 60 minutes to make at least 4 plates out of it for the judges. The secret ingredient was lamb but I can't even pronounce the dishes they came up with!!

This was a charity event for The YMCA and Idaho Special Olympics. The chefs were Gino from Gino's Italian Restaurant and Jon Mortimer from Mortimer's Restaurant. The celebrities were former BSU quarterback, Bart Hendricks and Olympic cyclist, Kristin Armstrong. http://www.boisecoop.com/iron-chef.asp It was all very interesting, but they left a huge mess on the stage!!!!!

Chef Gino offered to pose with Gloria after the event. He was very nice. I didn't mean to cut off the top of his head!!!!

Gloria had no idea who Kristin Armstrong was, but she's always willing to pose for a picture!!

I have to say that this was the most unique event we've had the opportunity to be involved with!!
