A Long Day and A Late Night

After Thursday's event, Ric asked if we could take a few extra events this weekend that he couldn't get to. It's difficult to turn down income and even more difficult to turn down Ric, so we ended up running sound for Soul Purpose at the Power House. Last week we accepted a stage rental even though we have no stage. Rob and Dale had built 6 short decks for the Table Rock event a few weeks ago, so the plan was to build 4 more on Friday and use those 10 decks for the Caldwell event on Saturday morning. Time ran out on Friday and Rob and I had to leave to set up at the Power House and Dale had a soccer game. The kids and I met Dale back at the shop at 10:00 p.m. and we painted and drilled and measured and cut until midnight when the kid's and I went to help Rob tear down. Gloria had a great time dancing around and entertaining the clean-up crew:

Zach was a big help:

We broke down in record time and loaded the truck:

Back to the shop where Dale was still plugging away- going totally above and beyond- on the stage decks. Rob quickly set to work putting on the legs on while Dale continued to work on the last two decks and I painted the one that was ready to go:

We finished all ten decks and left the shop by 3:00 a.m. Rob and Dale will meet back here at 9:00 a.m. tomorrow to load the last two that still have to dry and head out to Caldwell to set them up.
