CNR set-up

It was a long, but good, day. This is the third year we have run Straight Shooter at the Caldwell Night Rodeo After-Party but this time we were able to set everything up the day before. This is a three-night (five nights if you count set up and tear down) event and in the past we have set it up Thursday morning, barely making it in time to set up and run Nampa Nights, only to quickly tear down Nampa Nights and race to Caldwell to run this show. Since we didn't have a time crunch, it took us most of the day to set up. We left the house around 10:00 a.m. and got home just before midnight. It always looks funny to me to see our rigs inside the O'Connor Field House:

This is the "before" picture. The Events Center provides the stage and we will set up the sound and lights.

Gloria was a huge help today. She is definitely motivated by $ but she even had a good attitude as she helped today. Dale took her for a ride on the distro case:

Zach is also motivated by $ and is a great help anytime he is asked but today he's reading Harry Potter so it's very difficult to peel him away from that. He thought the ride looked like fun so Rob spun him a few times. (He finished the book, so hopefully I'll have his attention tomorrow!)
Gloria even helped put in the truss bolts:

She treats the truss like her personal monkey bars:

We finished up and tested the lights around 9:00. Everything seems to be working which should make our job easier tomorrow:

The "after" picture:

Tomorrow we'll add a few more speakers and adjust the lights to the band and we'll be good to go for the next three nights.

We decided to check out the rodeo before going home and I ran into my Redneck Woman friend, Gretchen Wilson, and we hung out for awhile:

There were a bunch of booths just outside the rodeo so we had some fun with that:

It was a good ending to a long day to just sit and enjoy the rodeo. Just another perk. . .

One day down, four to go. . . .
