Memorial Day

The kids and I spent a relaxing day with my mom and dad on Memorial Day.

The weather was beautiful so we walked to a park a few blocks from their house.

Zach brought his remote controlled Dragonfly. . .

. . . and quickly drew a crowd of onlookers. . .

In fact, we were all pretty entertaining to the park visitors that afternoon. . .
Gloria convinced my dad to go down the slide:

Not one to be shown up, my mom took a turn as well. . .
She then challenged each of the kids to an arm wrestling match. . .
And seemed truly surprised when they soundly beat her!!
Gloria challenged Zach. . . and he won. . .
Zach challenged me and I totally took him out. . .
All of those things were entertaining, but it was the footrace that really took the cake.
Some random kid in the park just couldn't help but join in and he and Zach both beat me in a race. Gloria tried to take me down when she realized she couldn't catch me but there was no way I could let that happen. I came in third. . . out of four. . . Thankfully I'm hidden behind Zach in the picture. . .
It was a fun afternoon and I'm glad we could amuse and entertain the neighborhood. . .
