Countdown to Jehoshaphat

Three years ago, Louise and I (mostly Louise!) worked with the kids at church and put on a fabulous play titled, "Fat, Fat Jehoshaphat".
It's about an Old Testament king who put his trust in God and chose to let God fight the armies coming against him instead of going into battle. In order to listen to what God is asking them to do, Jehoshaphat's army and all of his people fast and pray until they understand what God's will is. In the end, the king is no longer fat (from all the fasting) so he is proclaimed, "Flat, Flat Jehoshaphat". A few months ago, the kids in youth group started stirring up talk of having a reunion Jehoshaphat tour. Louise finally relented and opening (and closing) day is June 1, 2008. Most of the kids will have the same parts but they are all 3 years older. . . it should be very interesting. . . Zach played the part of the king back then and will attempt to out-do himself this time around. He's changed just a little. . . (check out his ankles!!):

His first mission is to make sure the king is good and fat. He won't be satisfied with a few pillows stuffed in his shirt so we went to the costume shop to see what they had to offer in the way of fat suits.

It was very entertaining.

At church on Wednesday night, we pulled out the costumes to see how much altering will need to be done. Gloria will once again be a soldier:

The soldier costumes were originally made to be a little longer, but we think we can make them work:

Quinton is the same age now that Gloria was in the original production. His costume fits perfectly:

We officially start practicing this Wednesday night and I'm sure we'll be in for lots of laughs. . .
