Renovation

I met with my girls again today. The kids in the youth group have been talking about re-decorating the youth room for several months, so we decided to start working on that today.

The fact that my walls at home are, and always have been, egg-shell white, prompted me to call in a team of experts to help with this project. Victoria has a beautifully decorated home and recently painted the nursery at church in a warm, welcoming fashion.

Although I haven't seen Allison's home, I've been told she's an amazing painter. She came highly recommended!!
The girls decided the boys could be a part of this meeting, so they could have a little say in the room re-model. Jason stayed around to help, too, so we had a great crew. This is a good "before" picture:

The biggest step in the process was clearing off the walls. There are a bajillion pictures hanging all over the walls thanks to some camera-freak that shows no restraint whatsoever. . . (Thankfully, I've slowed down a bit on the pics lately!) We took down everything on the walls and Morgan and Alyssa removed every little-bitty staple that was left behind.

Andrew helped with the pictures:

Even Henry got involved and helped Zach and Andrew remove tape and staples from all the pictures:

We all had a lot of fun moving things around and getting a vision for what the kid's want this room to look like.

This will be an on-going project, but we all felt like it was a good start!!
