April Festival!

Our busy festival season usually doesn't start until June but this year it kicked off early. For our first festival of the season this weekend we were fortunate to have a beautiful location to set up in as well as temps in the mid sixties. . .

We would normally have most of the spring to get ready for the summer but with an event that calls for most of what we have this early in the year, we weren't quite as "put together" as we'd like to be. This was the first time this stage has seen the sun since we folded it up after our last big outdoor event in September. We really weren't sure what kind of shape it would be in!!

It looked a little rough but, all things considered, it was in really good shape. It obviously looks well used now instead of brand-spankin'-new like last year, but now it has a little character!!
I'm also trying to be proactive this year about having a little more help setting this stuff up so the three of us "old" people can survive the summer! This is Tyler and I think his help this summer is going to make a HUGE difference!!

We set up the stage and canopy on Friday since the actual festival was all day Saturday. . .

I'll be putting Zach to work as often as possible, too. Zach and Tyler are pretty close to the same age and I think they'll work well as a team. . .

It took a little less than five hours to set up the stage and canopy and put most of the sound gear where it needed to be for the event. We were back by 8 a.m. on Saturday morning to set up the sound system which went very smoothly. Hailey and I took over 200 pictures so it may take me a few days to sort and post about the festival!! It was a fun event and everything went really well. I guess we were more prepared than any of us thought!!
