1K

Today in math, Gloria's lesson had a review on centimeters, meters and kilometers. The math book reminded us that, "If you took a big step, your step would be about 1 meter. . . If you took 1,000 big steps, you would walk about 1 kilometer." Gloria was very curious about just how far we would have to walk from our house before we reached 1 kilometer. We decided to find out. Instead of counting 1,000 steps, we chose to mark off 100 steps 10 times. To make it just a little more fun, we marked off our steps with a silly picture. Here we are on the front step where we started:

100 steps from home. . . :

200 BIG steps. . .

300 steps (I couldn't be too silly since we had to stop in front of a house where a man was washing his car. . . ):

400 steps:

500 steps (Ouch!):

600 steps:

700 steps (we are laying down in the entrance to a parking lot!!!):

800 steps:

900 steps:

1,000 BIG STEPS!!!!!:

It's hard work being that silly so we had to reward ourselves!!:

It was worth it. . .

I love math. . . and Diet Pepsi. . .

Do you know, I had to have a Diet Pepsi over the weekend, and I thought of you! The thought was the only good thing about the Diet Pepsi. :)
