We had our annual dessert auction/quizzing fundraiser after church on Sunday. . .
As usual, we had a good turn out of overly generous people. . .
We raised enough money for at least the next two quiz meets and, if we can handle riding the school bus again, we can easily stretch the money we raised to cover all three of the upcoming meets. . .
The last few years, Zach has worked overtime to make an elaborately themed "Jesus Cake". This year he baked some brownies, put a little frosting in between and wrote the word, Jesus, with chocolate syrup.

Don't get me wrong- it was delicious- but this year, Gloria's contribution really took the cake. . .
The bidding, however, got a little out of hand on her bright blue and orange BSU cake. At one point we heard one man telling another that if he outbid him again, he would pull his oxygen tube. . .
Turns out the man with the oxygen tank wasn't afraid and put in the winning bid at the last minute. But in order to keep the peace, Gloria had to promise to make another cake exactly like the first one for the competing bidder who agreed to match the price. Who knew that two $.79 cake mixes could bring in $100?? Go Broncos. . .
